Day 233 (and now we are caught up)

Today’s Reading – Jeremiah 41-45Then all the army officers, including Johanan son of Kareah and Jezaniah son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least to the greatest approached Jeremiah the prophet and said to him, “Please hear our petition and pray to the LORD your God for this entire remnant. For as you now see, though we were once many, now only a few are left. Pray that the LORD your God will tell us where we should go and what we should do.”

“I have heard you,” replied Jeremiah the prophet. “I will certainly pray to the LORD your God as you have requested; I will tell you everything the LORD says and will keep nothing back from you.”   Jeremiah 42:1-4

Interesting that when crisis comes we find ourselves turning to God for guidance.

Interesting in that we often find ourselves in crisis because of our failure to listen to God’s direction in our lives.

The Good News is that this is not a new phenomenon.

The Bad News is that is no excuse.

Remember the words of Habakkuk from yesterday?

Seek God’s guidance always.

Live your faith always.

When crisis comes, don’t be making your first call to God!

Tomorrow’s Reading – Jeremiah 46-48

I am a United Methodist Pastor and have the privilege of serving as the Senior Pastor for the church of my childhood. I preach in a place I once was an acolyte. I love to preach, but more importantly I love to teach. I firmly believe that Faith Matters and should affect how we live. This blog is a place where I come to share the randomness that is life and faith ... and the intersection of the two.
